Am i a stereotype? i am a grandmother–but I learned to knit age 8– and still am young at heart. And i blog, and go to SnB, and well I do everything a typical NYer does.. which means nothing i do is typical.
To Helen of Troy.. I think the point is not that you are a knitting granny, the point is that us youngsters are not but get granny comments all the time because we knit. Grandma’s are lovely and great, and that’s not why we have this ring. We want this ring because we aren’t grandma’s (yet). Anyway.. I don’t know how to explain this better. This ring is not to offend, it’s to unite young knitters who will be the next generation of grandma’s
Knittingschmoo, I’m in cue for the ring.. I think it’s a great initiative, but I also think you could leave some of the stuff out in the ringcode.. like ‘previous,’ ‘random,’ ‘previous 5,’ ‘next 5,’ and the two ones with ’skip’… because that makes it a very LONG and BIG ringcode, whereas I think people like to have it compact.. anyway just a suggestion! Yay for Crush the Knitty Stereotype!
